It is the start to another week and today, we look at just how everyday worries can become the center of our lives and cloud our view of God.

Don’t Fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
I remember learning during my chemistry classes in secondary school, what was called a displacement reaction; where a compound will always displace a less reactive metal from solutions of its compounds. In layman’s terms, when a higher element comes in contact with a lesser element, it most definitely displaces it from its own combination. An example is when Iron is mixed with the solution Copper Sulphate, it displaces Copper, forms Iron III Sulphate and Copper goes off on its own. (Iron + Copper Sulphate = Iron III Sulphate + Copper)
Yesterday, the Holy Spirit used that analogy to remind me of the ultimate worry displacer – Christ Jesus. The verse above aptly explains what happens when Christ comes into contact with our worries. He displaces them and becomes the center of our lives.
So using the chemistry example; Jesus + Oge’s Worries = Jesus Oge + Worries
You have worries, loads! And valid ones too! However, you must let Jesus come into the equation, He displaces your worries and becomes your focal point, your worries take a back seat and you set your gaze on Him who is able to deliver and walk you through that rough time. So, does the cancer go away? Or the financial drought or the failing marriage or the sick kids? Probably not, but they no longer remain your focus, Jesus is now and He reminds you of what the word of God says regarding your circumstance.
Today, let your heart be blessed by this ultimate displacer of our worries. Let us bring Him in contact with them through our praise filled requests and prayers and wait faithfully for His deliverance.
