‘For Him alone is faithful, Praise His Holy name.’ God’s mighty hand guides us to a place of rest in Him. He is ever faithful. As we look at the remaining action of God’s mighty Hand –Rest, let us also reflect on His goodness towards us in the year 2017. Count your blessings- it completely changes our outlook on life. Remember we are in the seasons of Release, Restore and Rest. Keep the faith, God is near!!
Rest is defined as “to cease from work or movement in order to sleep, relax or recover strength.”
Our text is taken from Hebrews 4:9-11
“So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest.”
God entered His Rest after creating the Earth. He invites us to come into that rest. When there is a release (from tough times), He restores (a God action that enables the lost to be regained), then He brings us into a place of Rest in him.
The place of Rest is where God’s glory is revealed, it is a place of thanksgiving, a place of peace and tranquility, a place where you cease from your struggles, a place of multiplication, a place of safety, a place where you KNOW that God is for you. How do we get into this place of rest?
Let’s reflect on the past devotions on Release and Restore, a common thread there is a relationship with God through His Son Jesus by faith. Being committed to a deep relationship with God through His Son and trusting Him through the ups and downs of Life’s journey eventually brings you to a place of Rest, Relaxation, Chilling and Strength building. How? You finally let go and Let God! You know He is handling, You know He’s got you! You stop struggling, knowing that He that brought about your Release and Restoration will grant you a Peace that passes all human understanding that will keep your mind and heart stayed on Christ.
Prayer
