Going deeper with God – ASK (Part 1)

Going deeper with God – ASK (Part 1)

How’s the week going? Hope great! As we continually place all BETs on God, our confidence in Him should soar till all we know is Him.  Over the next couple of weeks, we will be looking at going deeper with God. Are you tired of the status quo? Have you ever wanted more in your relationship with God? Do you often wonder at the possibility of having new encounters with God? Do you often hope for more power, more revelation and great discernment about issues? Like the Sons of Issachar, do you wish you understood the times better? And so you planned better? Do you often wonder at the relationship between God and Moses, Abraham, Elijah etc? Can you ever know God that way? The answer to this is a big bold YES!!!!!

Remember in Matthew 7:7-Jesus said “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

The key is to ASK God. All answers are in Him.

Let’s look at the first word Ask. What are we to ask God for in prayer?

17 I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.

We are to ask God for the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know Him more intimately.  To experience Him in ways we have never seen or felt Him. To understand the hope of our calling. I have realized when you understand your life purpose, it makes life fairer and easier to manage, hoping for the best as you work out life. The Spirit of Wisdom and the Spirit of revelation creates this insight into your purpose and draws you closer to God as He reveals Himself to you daily and in doing so, reveals why He has created you- your purpose and mission.

Revelation brings understanding, it brings illumination and clarity on purpose and God’s word. With understanding, comes the journey of self realization and God intervention. When we ask for the eyes of our heart to be illuminated; it is really praying for God to give us eyes that see as He sees. Our ‘spiritual eyes” are sharpened and our “seeing” becomes godly and led by the Spirit.

Today, start to ask for the Spirit of Wisdom, Revelation, Understanding, Discernment and Grace to go deeper with God.
