Going deeper with God – ASK (Part 2)

Going deeper with God – SEEK

As the year winds down, we shouldn’t wind down our pursuit of God. As we make plans for next year by His Grace, our main goal should be a pursuit of Our Heavenly Father to uncover our true selves in Him. The unfortunate thing that can ever happen to anyone is not knowing your identity in God; this forms your thoughts, words, actions, character and finally your destiny.

As we continue our ASK series on going deeper with God, we look at SEEK this week

Our foundation text, Matthew 7:7-Jesus said “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

What are we seek from God? For me I have learnt to seek Him in the deep. There I find Him and He teaches me great revelation and unveils mysteries. Don’t you want to know more? I find that in the deep, God reveals things about you; an awesome journey that makes you understand that whatever you are going through is working out His perfect purpose. King David realized this in the midst of his woes knowing that only God could deliver Him out of a place of trouble. In Psalm 42:7 he says Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Growing intimately in God will come from seeking Him in the deep through the Holy Spirit. Yes, all we need to know in God is revealed through the Holy Spirit. He searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us. How?

In prayer:

Praying in the spirit is mandatory for anyone seeking to find God in the deep. In this place, the human spirit becomes totally submitted to God and allows the Spirit of God to pray for and on their behalf. All fleshly desires are cast off and you find yourself in a place that the Spirit correctly discerns and prays about the situation to the Father

In studying the Word of God:

God’s word is flawless. It is TRUTH. Nothing changes this. As you spend time studying His word, open your mind and spirit to receive revelation about what you read. Ask questions about what you do not understand. Gain wisdom and understanding about matters.

In speaking:

In making declarations over your life, you enter into the realm of kingly authority. You are the first prophet over your life. What you speak is what you get. What words do you speak to God? You speak His words. They must perform. As you consistently see God’s character through His word, He welcomes you into the deep knowledge of Him and His ways.
