HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year to you! Welcome to 2020. Are you excited about this year? Or not? How do you feel? Maybe the many disappointments of 2019 may have kept you wincing at another new year and wondering what has changed? The pain, despair and discourage of 2019 may still be staring you in the face but remain resolved to keep celebrating God and your wins in 2020.

I know there will be a lot of ‘This is the year of this or This is the year of that”, and we sometimes mouth these words not believing in them but going along with the flow. Well for me and I hope a number of you too, I have decided that I am tired of the status quo! No more clichés and hip words to create years of this and that. This year 2020 – all I want is MORE! More of God, More of His Power, More of His Spirit, More of the demonstration of His Power in my life, More of His love, More of encounters with Him.   I want more of God!

What do you want? More of God or More from God? This year let us be God Chasers!!!!

Our text is taken from Psalm63:1 (TPT)

O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness.

I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more, with cravings in my heart that can’t be described. Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God!

Let our hearts long after God. King David despite his weaknesses was a man after God’s heart, so much that God honored him by ensuring that Jesus Chris came from his lineage.  How did he have God’s sweet spot? By a constant pursuit of God! If you study the life of King David, He was as imperfect as we all are yet his heart burned for God. Even in moments when he was going through a hard time like the scripture shows above, he still knew that his deliverance could only come from God. He would complain, cry, weep, be afraid, be confused and discouraged, however King David always acknowledged and knew that there was no where else to go except to God. He chased after God.

Let’s set every distraction aside and focus on building a meaningful relationship with God this year. Let’s work at getting to know Him better and understanding Him. Let’s not rely on third parties to be the go- between, Go find God for yourself. He’s waiting.

Let this year be one that you encounter God for yourself and be a witness to your world that you are marked by Him.

Prayer: Heavenly father, I want more of you. Take me deeper. In Jesus Name Amen.

Charge of the week: Chase after God!
