Four Ways To Love God in 2022

Over the last few weeks, we’ve taken a look at “Why you can’t love others” and “Money can not buy love”. Hold on! This week we look at Four ways to love God. Yes it is the month of love – let us shower our affections on God.

'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul; with all your mind and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

Four ways to love God:

  1. To love God with all your heart – is to love him with passion. Action showcases the state of the heart. How much do you love God? How passionate about God are you? How eager are you about showing God off? How much do you desire God?
  2. To Love God with all your soul – love Him with your life, some versions say prayer. How often do you communicate with God? Only in troubled times? What does your life speak of? Righteousness? Holiness? Does your living speak of His love?
  3. To Love God with all your mind – love Him with all your intelligence (your faculty of thought and moral understanding) – clear enough I believe… Our thoughts can define our living or attitude towards God and people. Do we let our thoughts drive our definition of God and His ways? Love Him with your mind.
  4. To Love God with all your strength – love Him with all your energy! Yes! There are mornings that it takes all of my strength to get down on my knees and say a prayer – I just want to sleep a while longer but love constrains me and I find myself loving with all my strength. Days when everything seems to go wrong and seems your praise has taken a hike- with all of your energy – you lift up a song of praise – with all of your strength you stay true to purpose.

To sum it all in a simple and clear way –
Love the Lord your God with all your passion, your prayer, your intelligence and energy.

This is a very clear command by God. Indeed, He is our greatest reward. Step into this amazing love affair and enjoy the goodness of the Lord.
